What are the Features?

What are the Requirements?

What is Freeware and Shareware?

As the name implies, Freeware is free of any obligation to the end user. Freeware is usually provided to the end user on an "as is" basis. Many companies and authors provide versions of their Commercial or Shareware software as Freeware. The idea being that if the user likes the Freeware, they'll often buy the Commercial or Shareware product for its added functionality.

Sometimes called Authorware, Shareware is software that is provided free on a trial basis to the end user with the understanding that if the user finds it useful, the user will send the author the requested fee. Often, this software is limited in some manner, time (usually 10-30 days), number of uses (trialware), reduced functionality (crippleware or liteware), or a combination of all of these limitations. Shareware has the ultimate money-back guarantee - if you do not like or use the product, you do not pay for it. Copyright laws apply to both Freeware and Shareware and the copyright holder retains all rights.

Shareware and Freeware programs can be distributed by downloading from the Internet (the most popular method), on floppy disks, or on CD disks. At Bible Believers Fellowship, Inc., we rely on the download method only. As a nonprofit ministry, we have to keep our costs down and by having the end user download our screen savers, we have no floppy or CD disk expenses, printing of labels or packaging expenses, labor expenses, or postal and shipping fees.

Each of our screen savers can be downloaded from the links located below the sample thumbnail photos on their corresponding pages.

Can I get a poster to put in my church?

Yes! If you would like to put up a 8½×11 poster on a bulletin board at your church or some place else to notify people about Bible Believers Fellowship, Inc., please choose the poster or posters you want from our Posters page and print it out.

My screen saver locks up after hours of being on. What's the solution?

There could be a variety of reasons for this.

  1. It could be that you have the Microsoft Task Scheduler set to do something after a few hours. Many times, having a disk defragment or scan disk might interfere with the screen saver and cause a lockup.
  2. There might be a memory leak with some of the software and this could cause a lockup. If you have more than 16 mb of ram, this should not happen, but it might if you are running any memory intensive programs.
  3. Depending on where you bought your computer, many manufacturers set the Energy Saving Features of the Monitor to full on. What this means is that you are not suppose to use a screen saver at all. The monitor automatically goes black after a set time and then it totally shuts down at a later time. All sound will still be heard (if music is playing, etc.). But the computer may appear to be locked up and sometimes it does if both the screen saver and the Energy Saver Mode come on. This feature cannot be used if you want to use a screen saver. The method of turning off Microsoft's Energy Saving Mode is -
    1. First, open My Computer.
    2. Open the Control Panel.
    3. Open the Display icon (looks like a monitor).
    4. At the top of this Display Properties window, you'll see some tabs. Click on the one that says Screen Saver.
    5. Look for a section at the bottom that says Energy saving features of monitor. Click on the Settings button in the bottom right of this box.
    6. A window should appear that says Power Management Properties. The tab should be on Power Schemes.
    7. There should be two boxes. The top will say Power Schemes. The bottom will say Settings for power scheme. Go to this one.
    8. Now there are three boxes with settings in them. Make them all Never. Do this by clicking on the down arrow button on the right of each box and click on Never.
    9. Once this is done, go to the top box which says Power Schemes, click on Save As... and type in your name or something to call this (that you will remember for future references if you ever change this) and click OK.
    10. Go to bottom of the window and click on OK.
    11. You might have to restart the computer now. If so, do it.
    12. Everything should work now. However, you might have to open our screen saver window and set the time, etc.
